Replaced the injectors, do I have a bigger problem?

Just replaced all six injectors today. (Had 2 bad ones) Not too difficult a job, but still took me 5 hours. (I work kind of slow and had never done this before.) The putt-putt-putt sound is gone from my exhaust, she purrs now. Drives nice again. The problem is I was amazed at the amount of junk in both the upper and lower intake manifolds. It looked like caked-on burnt oil. Is this normal or do I have a bigger problem?

Also, 2 of the injectors I removed were original from the factory. The other 4 were replaced by Nissan 7 years ago when they had the recall for faulty fuel tube hose. I am puzzled why 2 of the injectors didn't get replaced then. I was told at the time Nissan would replace all injectors at no charge because of the hassle. Did I get ripped off somehow? Anyone remember what the details of the recall were?

was there any pieces of stuff in the intakes or is it just like a burnt oil (looking) film covering the inside?

Crank rotation, [piston] oil cooling spray etc causes air inside engine to become filled with oil droplets, misty. This is air is vented (via tubes from valve cover and/or PCV) into the intake and causes what u describe. Normal.

The stealership (mech?) needed those 2 injectors for himself or for $ale to support his hobbies. Normal.

There was a recall on the injectors? Thought it was only for rust.

Joe, re-read his post.

Tommy, that burnt on oil is normal, it just the oil re-introducted from the PCV. This is also how the TB butterfly gets a little bit of carbon.

There was a recall on the rubber hose on the injector fuel tube line, not the injectors themselves. I think it was because it could get brittle in extreme cold temperatures and cause a fire. They had to remove the whole fuel injector assembly to get to that tube, hense the reason for replacing the injectors while they were in there.

Re-reading it didn't help me. I only thought there was a recall on the rust. Never heard anything about the injector recalls. Thats why I asked to be sure.

I'm the second owner on my car and I'm not sure if that issue was ever addressed. Short of opening it up, there's not any other way to check, right?
