Quick Question: I have driven a '94 SE with the full WSP 2.5" exhaust with an 18" resonator, it sounded very nice. The car had a midpipe intake on it, & you couldn't hear it at all. I know that CAI's are much louder than the midpipes, cause I have a VE-5 with a CAI. My question is, will the full WSP 2.5" drown out the sound of my CAI completely or just make it less noticable. I really really love the sound of the CAI, so I really don't want to sacrifice it. BTW the dual magnaflow tips look much better than the SP2 (IMO) I can get you pics. of my buddies.

Anyhoo, It all goes back to personal tastes. Myself, I went thru the loud exhaust phase already (lots of tickets). Now I prefer to draw as little atention to my car as possible. For that the Greddy is best, quietest of them all, still flows/ gains perf., and has superb quality rep., high price though, but i'll pay it. I still drive fast & "assertively", just use stealth-mode now.
The WSP/magnaflow or WSP Q' setup is probably still very cool, just a tad louder/meaner sounding. Probably beter for those who like to be noticed in a good way. see the story on the WSP site. But the muffler looked like it stuck out a tad too far one guy's car I saw. But there again: personal tastes.
As for muffler shop jobs: it's hard to always get a quality job done as fas fittment and welds go. plus i've head some on various cars, not impressed. but again, i don't like loud stuff anymore, at least on the street. race is ok.
And finally, who the heck was saying cat-backs are b.s.? dude, is the stock exhaust diameter not like 1.5 inches or so? you try forcing 3.0 liters of anything thru a tube that stinkin' small; not easy. The Cat-back does make a difference, but it's part of the total exhaust equation. the cat-back obviously won't be as effective by itself, as opposed to being paired w/ a high flow cat and Ypipe. Because not changing any one of those creates a "crimp in the hourglass" so to speak. Jeez.
I do have agree about the dual magnaflow tips over the single greddy though.
So what's up with the 5th gen mufflers? They an easy fit or do they weld on?
anybody got a used Greddy for sale?

stock catback is 2.25" and flows decent. Biggest gains come from a Y-pipe. I didn't notice much of a difference going stock cat to straight pipe so unless your stock cat is gone or you get a good deal I wouldn't really bother with a high flow.
once you get used to the GReddy tip there's no going back, it just takes a little time
5th gen Muffler = welds in
