the alarm is supposed not to go of with the key in the lock,

it only goes off without the key in the lock or somebody breaking a window or picking a lock.

one of the sensor in the trunk could be bad or something else could be bad,

pull the alarm relay out of the black box under the hood, wouldn't that stop the alarm from going off?

That is also the ignition relay....So by pulling it would also disable the ignition...

i think the alarm is supposed to go off wen you open the trunk without deactivating it. both alarms i have do that. my maxima had a prestige alarm, and my 240 has a viper. as long as the alarm is activated, if any sensor is set off, the alarm will go off.

No. Factory alarm does NOT do that if functioning properly. The yellow "Security" light starts flashing just like it does upon unlocking the driver's door. If trunk is left unlocked for way too long (with the doors locked, of course) the alarm goes off. That happened to me once while detailing. It must have been after at least 10 minutes or so.

Key words are "and the doors are locked" =alarm system is armed. From system point of view, youre the intruder...

Disconnect the wire if u find the feature offensive.

Your key...Put in any lock on the car deactivates the factory security on the car.... even the trunk.......

how did you open the trunk without the key , and without the doors being unlocked to get to the pop button... you would have to use the key outside , which would stop the alarm from going off .. your alarm is b0rked.

if the alarm goes off when you use the key to open any of the doors or trunk the key sensor for that lock cylinder is bad

if you reached in throught the window and pushed the trunk pop button with the doors locked then it should go off
