There was a sticky last year for people smelling gas when it gets cold out. Maybe bring that back? Keep a snow brush in your car!

Good one....That problem has to do with the fuel rail hose clamps needing tightening and/or the hoses cracking and leaking....

I heard that de-icer was bad as it can damage the paint job.

Add to the list:

Get a tires checked and balanced
Check air pressure as the air pressure in the tire drops more frequently in cold weather.

Couple more weeks of fun with the Max, then the REAL fun begins. It's getting put in the garage and covered (as every winter) until I do the tranny swap and suspension. As for moving thru the snow, I have a 4wd beater Toyota (currently kind of broken) that is naturally attracted to snow banks and I've been counting the days till I can fire up the sled! Ya know, I've never posted any pics of my car, I think I'll do that before putting it away. Also, anyone have an idea of why my toyota just started leaking tranny fluid when it is running?

Mine is getting a tune up, drive belts replaced, new battery, starter, alternator, wipers, and anything else that looks out of place. Really don't feel like getting stranded this winter. Had enough of that with the GXE. Also gonna try to keep driving to a minimum on heavy snow days since these parts of the woods are known for some seriose rust.

Remove spring/summer wheels and tires, replace with fall/winter wheels and snow tires. Install roof rack w/ ski attachment. Check coolant level. That's it for me.

Shame on you! Thats what your civic is for!

j/p! LoL looks like your civic is a pretty serious track car...

For my max this year I have to change the coolant, as its 75/25 now, check heat, and thats about it. Its getting a major tune up as last time it was driven (other then sunday for 5 min) was as an auto 20 some months ago. Now its rockn a 5 speed tranny! Still have the stock rims and great tires so Im good. Any one need rims, I have 8 3rd gen rims! (extra!)

I have a set of studded snow tires in the garage. I usually wait until it is actually snowing or the forecast is pretty dang sure before I mount them.

I actually bought my Maxima so I could drive it in the snow, as compared to the Mustang GT convertible I had before, which was basically worthless in snow and ice.

However, the Maxima still spends most of the time in the garage. In fact, today was the first time I had driven it in about two weeks.

Its not a mod. Your max is modded: heaters have been taken out.

I will fixit for a fee. How many u want? From which vehicle? ...lots of tractors around (Volvo TC = tractor control). All cars here have seat heaters, parts shop sell extras if u havent got, to be used under seat covers.

One minor thing before I come with the seat$, the cheque...

CyMax:
The only danger in car electronics is, that one swallows the battery. Well, of course one may:
- short & loose all smoke from ECU (smoke out, intel loses intelligence)
- drop a wrench on batt terminals, lose eyesight as acid explodes
- torch the max with arching shaky connections
- keep Taserocking all night long* - if engine revs above 2k - and one insist taking ign wire in u hand (*or as long as gas in the tank)...
