Does anyone know if NGK has a website? Or what is another place to order NGK spark plug wires?

But of course! Good ol' carparts.com ->

They sell the NGK Blue wires. Do a part search for NX91 (which are for the VG Engine; VE engines do not apply here) and you will see the NGK wire set listed for $98.11. Then go to checkout and enter the 33% off coupon number 1963005, which will get that price down to about $65. After shipping, this should run you about $73.

Bookmark this NGK part finder site to get the right plugs, O2 sensor, wires, etc for any car. NGK Part Finder

Enjoy!

Has anyone noticed a difference using performance plugs and wires over stock without a per. ignition?

92GXE, touring wing, 18” racing wheels, Port&Polished intake, custom intake, custom yellow interior, racing seats, back seats taken out and replaced with subs and amps, NOS kit, Suspension tech. Lowering springs, custom grille, soon to be custom painted and have the whole engine rebuilt for big shot NOS and custom SC and tranny converted to 5-speed.

Basically, the VG motors really like the standard copper

NGK plugs and OEM Nissan or NGK wires.....They're "happier" with this setup.

I've run Bosch plugs, etc. in a VG before.....not a good idea.....the VG just doesn't 'feel' the same unless Japanese parts are used....

I think our Maxes are prejudiced.

As for performance stuff, the Jacobs ignition system is the most talked about, and the consensus I've drawn is it's a lot $$$ for little/no performance gain.

Hopefully others will contribute more than the $.02 here.

Yeah, NGKs definitely ->

I'm assuming you have the VG motor. If you do, you can order these from carparts.com as well. Just do a search for part number BKR6ES11, and you should find them for $2.25 each, or about $1.60 after the 33% off.

There are also V-power and Platinum plugs available, but they really don't offer any benefits. Sure, platinums will last longer, but the regular copper plugs are just better conductors. Plus, the VG plugs are so easy to change....I think I'm down to 12 minutes for changing plugs....

However, if you have a 92-94SE with the VE motor, then the part number is PFR5C11, which are a whopping $14.64 each. They are platinums and are the only recommended plugs I know of.

Re: Yeah, NGKs definitely ->

Bill, I have a VG. What colors do the wire sets come in? There is no picture on Carparts.com. Do you know if they make red??? Also off the topic, where can I find some steel braided brake lines?

Hmmm.....Yeah the red is a popular question ->

I can tell you that the NX91 are BLUE in color and look sweet in the Max.

I've heard that NGK makes "red" ones, but do not know for sure if they exist.

In addition to the NX91, carparts.com also has a set of "9761" wires for the 89 to 94 Maxes with the VG motor.

What's interesting is that is the stock number (not the part number) for the NX91 part number that is described in the NGK part finder website is indeed 9761.

What's even more interesting is that it is $4 or $5 cheaper than the NX91 wire set, being $94 instead of $99.

What's the difference?

Good question.

Color? Maybe.

Quality? Probably not.

Could the NX91 be the "newer" model? Maybe.

The best way to know is to call NGK to see if they can shed some light as carparts.com is not customer service oriented in the least.
