anyone have info on how to repair bose amps?

hey does anyone have info on repairing the bose amps? I just bought 2 new to me speakers+amps for the front but I cannot find the left rear speaker at anywhere near a reasonable price so I was wondering if anyone has info on repairing the bose amps. thanks in advance for your help!

I just sold a pair of working ones a month or so ago.

as for the amps, get online and look around. they're the same (or very similar) amps in many many other vehicles equipped with Bose systems out there. there are all kinds of tutorials on repairing them.

that is what I thought too but there is a place http://www.carstereohelp.com/ that proved otherwise to me lol. I am just not willing to spend 80 bucks fixing a 16 (not 10 lol) year old amp

If they are making a whistling sound, replace all the caps yourself - around 10 of them.

If there is no or very low output, the fets are probably gone. Never tried to find any of them, but if repair shops can locate them, they must be out there somewhere.

Otherwise, send them out for repair or replace the whole system.

Just replace them all if you have the dough: Bose is overrated.

I have a full BOSE system out of a 1992 SE including the head unit and all four speakers. Everything has been sitting in a box for the last 5-6 years but was working when I removed it. I'd really like to get rid of it, so if you want anything let me know.

I replaced 7 capacitors in the amp and it fixed my problem. Now the speaker is working perfectly. Here is a link that has more information about this procedure:

Hope you don't mind the "for Sale"

I also have the four amps and matching speakers from my '93 in a box and all were working fine before the head unit spaced out. Happy to part with them... head unit free if you want it.
