Help with STS install
Okay...I got the shifter off, but I think I'm missing a piece, and the instructions are not very clear....on the left is the original shifter. I have taken the bushing from the bottom, and placed it inside the the new shifter (on the right), because the one supplied with the kit did not fit there.
Now as I review, it appears that I am missing the rubber boot under the ball, I'd use the original, but I can't get it off. I guess I'll attempt to find one at the dealer tomorrow, but any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, I finished this . Since the STS did not come with the rubber boot that is on the stock shifter, I took the stock one off by boiling it on the stove, then, as soon as it was cool enough to touch, I sprayed it with silicon spray and pulled it off the bottom.
During the install, I kinda figured out why some people may have had issues with it locking up while hot.....well, that's because if you tighten the bolts too tight around the ball, then it can't move...what I did was adjust the nuts until I got it to be just a little more loose than I wanted when it was cold, so that when it heats up and expand, there is still room for it to move. Locktite is also suggested for those that don't want the nuts to back off like the guy in the thread I read earlier today.
So...now, I can go to my sig, remove the STS shifter from the "to be installed" list that it has been on since I bought it almost 3 years ago.
