Alternator...

Weird request...

I'm not on this club much at all anymore, now that I no longer have a Maxima at all. However, I have need for some information.

The alternator's from 1985-1994 are supposedly all interchangable. What I want to know is if anyone can get me the "pin-outs" for the harness plug for the alternator. There are 2 or 3 wires going into the little harness plug, and I need to know what colors they are, how they are arranged on the plug, and what they go to. This info should be in an FSM.

I am needing this info, as the physical dimensions are supposed to be identical for this alternator, and the one on my "new" car, so they would PHYSICALLY swap around. However, a new alt for the Max not only produces more power, but is also cheaper. I want to see if it's possible to swap them direct, or if I have to rewire the plug to make it work.

Since I am on so little, if you could respond via email at maxwgn@gmail.com, it would be greatly appreciated...

Actually, the wagon went to a bone yard as a swap for a set of alloy wheels - they were worth more than what they wanted to buy the car for cash.

The alternator idea is actually to swap / upgrade a 91 Mazda 626...

The files gave me ALMOST everything I need. The only thing I'm trying to figure out now, is the guide showed the alternator has two studs on the rear, one to charge, and one to ground. However, it doesn't give a good idea of how they are laid out on the back of the unit.

Does anyone know if the posts/studs are labled in some way or another? Or, could someone give me an idea of which post is which?
