can i replace my windshield by myself??
cuz i got a big crack that goes down the middle. i know ppls that i get help/tools from but what im asking is is that is there like a write up about it, and when i go to find one from a junker or something what do they need to do, and what other equipment do i need to get, or do i have to get a brand new one
actually I think Neka paid $95 of $75 installed for hers and they threw in a corner light for free.
of course that's here in Chicago.
Don't know about GA
Look in the phone book under junkyards, or automobile wreckers

I've had used windshields installed before. That was like 13 years ago, and back then it was $45-50. Finding good used glass was always the hard part, especially for an older car.
I just pay the deductible ($100) and have it done. Especially living in Western Washington with the rain, last thing I want is a leaky windshield....

Get a new one. Had a busted windshield on my old accord, drove 3 hours to get a used one to save a couple bucks. When the shop stripped the urethane off, the corners were cracked making it useless. The owner felt bad for me and got me a new one at cost and installed it with minimal labor charges. Moral of the story...get a new windshield and have a professional install it.
I couldn't agree with what everyone else said any more.
Used windshields are a gamble, and will be pitted from years of use.
Wanting to learn to fix things yourself is fine, and honestly is a great attitude to have, but this is just replacement and should be done by a pro with a new piece. I've heard a few stories similar to what maxitech posted.
