camber is a monster!

well i go and inspect my tires that i took off my old max, i put 500 miles on them and now the inside of the tire is almost gone!!!!!!!! i would say the camber is screwed up right? this is getting bad so i need to know soon.. would this have to do with the bushings i need? on my lower arm thingy??? i think it is the transverse link... the bushings that connect it to the car are totally gone on both sides

The fsm calls them transverse links...The rest of the world calls them control arms...

There is nothing you can do to the bushings by taking the control arm off...Very simple job...

if your car isn't lowered, it's more likely the toe than the camber. I would rec. an alignment. Find a shop where you can actually talk to the guy doing it. That way you can maybe slip him some bills to make sure he adjusts everything and does it right on specs. Or maybe just ask and he's cool like me.

If you would read the last sentence of his first post,he said the rubber in the control arms is gone....Alignment will not fix broken bushings...

Not only that... incorrect toe will "feather" the tread, not wear the inside edge away. An inner edge wore away is too much negative camber, with a possible underinflation of the tires.

+1 kc.

93, i was sort of speaking outside the issue of the lca bushings, which i took for granted that he and we all knew needed to be and would be fixed first and foremost, sorry to be unclear, but yeah alignment and tire psi are both good to check once in a while.

i just had to shelve my 18" wheels for a while, because my set of $800 Pirellis are already bad on the inside in only 2 MONTHS!!....2 of the tires are showing belt. The cause for this is negative camber from lowering my vehicle so much. internetautomar mentioned that the camber bolt kits could correct this problem. gonna try it soon
