Replacing Starter

There is a 94 Maxima SE for sale up here for $750 that just needs a starter. How hard is it to replace the starter on the VE?

its an automatic but the interior is good. The exterior is has a few scuffs on the bumper and the front bumper is black instead of blue like the rest of the body but other than that is in good shape.

it's like 2 mounting bolts, one connector and a wire.

the most difficult part is getting the stupis splash shield outof your way - if u even have them on anymore

automatic?starter is busted? No way to start it? Heh,be very careful if that's the case and do not believe the seller when he/she tells you that that's all it needs. Replacing a starter is super easy and takes less then 5 min after which you can get double the asking price...sounds fishy to me...

be very careful man.......go out and get a starter for that car from autozone......install the new starter and try it out before you buy....... make sure it starts!!!!!! on my old VE motor.. the starter was actually fine.. but the motor was locked up!!!!!!!! be careful and do that man... and if the motor is bad......return the bought starter! i would recommend doign this just to make sure

the starter has two 14MM bolts that hold it in and a cable and a thin wire......it is mounted on top of the tranny so you dont have to remove the splash guards.. just lift the hood and look under the intake box thingy.. well it is next to it... and just remove the 2 bolts and reinstall the new one...

exactly; the local pontiac dealer tried to sell me a 98 grand am with some serious lack of power...smelled like coolant...and there was coolant leaking after the drive (when they sent an associate to sit in with me...and i still floored it). they wanted 2800 or something...

they called back and told me that the leak was a head gasket and that they would deduct it from the price and i could fix it myself with my own money since they cut the price down....
