wet rugs

My 89 max drivers side front and rear rug always gets wet when i drive In the rain. So today was a nice day so i pulled the rugs up no rust or holes on the floor board.Just wet rugs. Next i pulled the back seat out to see my 3 inch by 8 inch hole.(the old rust recall in the wheel well) So im thinking could the water be coming in from the hole and going across the floor that its reaching the front of the drivers seat? I know alot of max owners have this recall. But have yall had this water issue. Cause i dont see no more holes not even underneath. Please help im drowning.

Cut out the rot, replace with metal, prime, paint. If you look in your trunk at the top of the wheel wells, you might find more holes are weak points. I spent a few day fixing mine... Not even half done.

But could this be where all the water is coming from. That it reaches the front.

It sure can. Pull up your carpet, you'll see a cross beam that was can seap under. While you got the carpet up, you might as well shave alot of weight by removing the rubber sound deadning.

My passeneger side has a HOLE under the beam! Still gott figure that one out. Another thing to check is the sunroof drain lines. Make sure they are hooked up. From the top to the bottom.

It's a pain, but cut the interior all at once, and you'll be able to throughly go through it.

Remove the healiner, Inspect the hose conntecions on the sunroof. etc.

the rear hoses end on the little side compartments in your trunk. The side... i'm not completely sure. Maybe someone else could fill that in, i know they go down the door pillar.

On my old accord my drivers foot well would get wet from driving in the rain. I took that plastic cover off that runs under the wipers and found a rust hole right along where the water is supposed to drain. I filled the void with silicone and moved on...

Well today i did a temp. bondo job in the rear wheel well. I know its best if get a piece welded in there. But lets see what happens. Also cleaned the passenger side front drainage.( where the fender meets the door ) Had like 5 pounds of dirt. So lets see what happens now.
