Things to replace when changing clutch?

So I'm still in the budgetting phase of replacing the clutch... what other maintenance would be conveniently done while I'm installing the new clutch? Approx. price and level of neccessity would be a nice touch to any suggestion...

Depending upon it's age. the rear Main seal on the engine is easily changed since the tranny is off. Seals aren't too much $5-20. And this can be very important, and save removing the tranny later on to replace it.

You will have to remove the flywheel to do this, so you minus well and have that turned to ensure a smooth level surface for the clutch disc. Or just replace it with a Fidanza...

A few more more things....Axle seals on the tranny, replace them..Cv axles...If they are original, replace them..unless you have a low mileage max..If you want to save some cash, you can sand down the flywheel with emory cloth instead of having it resurfaced....This worked well on my flywheel.

Also, go to napa for the gl4 tranny grease...

i would aslo think about the pilot bearing........i know maximas have a wierd setup with theirs where the input shaft doesnt totally ride on it, but its a $2.00 part and youll kick yourself in the **** if you dont replace it now while you have easy access and you have clutch chatter or something worse later on.........

make sure you change the pilot bearing when ever you change clutches. The truck I bought had a new clutch but they didnt change the pilot bearing so it made a loud noise because the new clutch was a heavy duty one compared to stock and it chewed the old pilot bearing up bad.

Does anyone have a picture of the pilot bushing? It is small and can easily be missed.

Thanks for the suggestions... I'm still kinda up in the air about whether or not I'm going to try this without the help of a licensed mechanic... I'm getting closer to chickening out everytime i think about it.

Oh, and with 234,000 on the clock I wouldn't exactly consider this a low mileage car... So I should probably replace as much as I can while i've got it taken apart.
