More questions on clutch replacement

Just prices. Do these quotes sound right?

Nissan Dealer: $1018
Reputable transmission shop: $982.15
Reputable asian car shop: $900-950
Autoport (military auto shop): Uhh, that's too much work.
Place recomended by Autoport: $600-650

I know having a shop do it is going to cost me... but I just want to make sure it's not costing me too much.

DIY its not that hard. Heck I could probably do it if you paid for my plane ticket each way, and still have a few hundred left over to pay for labor. Id only charge 150-200. plus about $200 on a 2 way ticket. Joking though, really I dont have the time ><

But those are about what Id expect from shops. But Id recomend you DIY, you just need some basic tools and the clutch. and some new tranny fluid. If your sig is right, get the tools and do it! its really not that hard. Plus you can besure its done right and you have the experiance.

In the beginning i considered DIY... But after reviewing my lack of materials, space, competent help, etc. i decided I'd just go ahead and pay for it.

Thats way too much. i just payed 400 to have mine replaced along with a new slave cylinder i had laying around plus they machined the flywheel. Those prices you got quoted are crazy. There cant be that much of a difference in labor b/t a VE5 and a VG5.

600 sounds reasonable. I did it myself, and it's a good deal of work. However, a clutch, slave, fluid, TB and fork came to about 180.

Yeah, i kinda want to make sure they're legit and it's not a remanufactured clutch of something. Since it's so much cheaper than the other quotes I got

get the parts from internetautomart and get the labor local. Best way to go since you know what you have. Just make sure the warrenty is good.
