How do I go about in checking a Fuel injector for leaks?
#1
I'm singling out different things for my horrible fuel economy, and looks like the only thing I haven't really checked out is the fuel injectors.... Only thing I did was listen for them, I hear the front 3 clicking, so I suppose they are working.. I do not know where exactly the other 3 are located, (I suppose behind the manifold somewhere?) I tried to get one of them out, I don't have tools or anything like that, plus no kind of manual for the VE engine, (followed the VQ directions) anyways, I read someones post about how an injector can be leaking but still working or I know they can misfire, so how would I go about in checking for an injector leak or malfunction? I will check them with the voltometer, what's the resistance supposed to be? 10-14 right?
I have signs showing injectors as possible culprits, Power loss, hesitation, poor gas milage..
Main question is how to check for a leak.... thanks for any info in advance...

I had this problem too.
What you want to do is unplug each injector while the engine is idling. If an injector is leaking the engine won't run as bad as when the others were unplugged. My stock injectors only had like 158k miles but #2 and 4 were working only at like 40-50%. I could noticeably tell that the engine ran alot rougher with 1 and 3 unplugged vs 2 and 4.

Ok I see what you are saying, thanks dude. Now if only I can figure out how to exactly get to the other set of injectors on this damn VE.
I'll go check fuses and stuff...
