CAI. Open or closed filter?

I was looking at the Cai cone filters. Which is better? Open end or the closed end. Has to be a difference in something.

Getting a QUALITY K&N or equal is 10x more important than if the end is open or not.

If you have to ask, you shouldn't be buying a CAI.

Those cheap ebay ones will send all kinds of crap into your engine.

Well i dont wanna get robbed . Not just gonna give my money away. Would you like to overpay? Then i buy it and everybody would say i got robbed. Money is no problem. Would you pay$10 for a dollar spark plug?

What if I told you they cost $100? Then if you buy one for $100 you now feel good? When in reality they might be 3/4, 1/2, 1/3 that price?

One of his POINTS was, if you have to ask, do your own research. Do you even know WHICH K&N CAI filter you need? Do you know if someone is already selling one here?

His other point was, if you rely 100% on others, don't get upset if you end up with the wrong thing or if you overpay. This board has good info. But ultimately you are responsible for what you do.

Consider this. Donate $20 and you can search for all the info you need. You will save 3x that much with your first researched purchase.

Jeff with all respect the way you translated that and the way he said it are two different things. In my opinion. In my eyes he put me down and then explained the ebay topic. Thats why where in this org to get info. Even if someone gives me a price im still gonna do my own research. At least i have an amount to go on. I consider that research. This board has excellent information which has helped me. Im responsible for all my actions and when it comes to my money I only trust me.

Sorry about my short, sarcastic comment. I didn't know it was going to hurt your feelings. The first thing most people that get the ebay CAI is throw the filter in the garbage and stick a K&N on there.

If you would have asked which size, I would have told you it depends on where you locate the filter, but usually any of the universal cone or cylinder shaped ones with a 3" opening will work fine.

You asked how much a K&N filter was. Maybe just look on ebay, at your local auto parts store that carries K&N.

I would also check out www.berktechnology.com

I haven't talked to Brian in a while (he is an .org member), but he was carrying universal 3" K&N filters for about $35 shipped. I think he has some other filters, too, including S&B, which are supposed to be as good as K&N (cotton type).

No hard feelings. not mad or upset. I appreciate the info. I found some 3 inch universals from $35 to $41. with free shipping. www.AJUSA.com. As for the pipe i dont know about that. I saw someone on cardomain and he used the one from a 90-93 accord. Has the same bends.

CAN WE ALL JUST GET ALONG...
