fixin to order eibach springs, need another new set of struts?

I just bought some new struts this past year, so they're not even a year old. Unfortunantly they are Gabriels. I'm fixin to lower my car with the eibach springs but i didn't know if i needed to yet again buy another set of struts, i've heard some say yes and some say no, what do you guys think?? i'm only dropping it 1.2 inches, just to fill the gap, make the 18's look better

i figured someone would say those, do i have to do those right now or could i use the Gabriels till they go out then buy the tokicos, or will that hurt the springs using struts not designed for being dropped??, well the koni were going to cost me 575 shipped to me, thats why i was gonna just drop it first then save, what do you suggest?

get the tokicos now and get it installed at the same time. save you $ and time on doing the labor twice. gabriels are not set up to handle any drop what so ever...so they will blow within a few weeks of driving and you'll have a low car that handles like crap because of blown shocks.

konis are a bit more $$ but that's your choice if you want to do konis now.

do it once...do it right.

Honestly, spend the money on the Koni's first. Both Tokicos and KYBs have been known to blow seals even using the Eibachs.

Koni is the only sure bet if you are lowering it.

i prolly do that, i know a guy in town with a lowered max, he kept his stock struts and they haven't blown yet so i wasn't sure, well better start saving.....lol struts are expensive!!!!

actually, just looked at internetautomart, your koni's aren't bad priced like tireracks, so heck ya i'll send you my money first, how long would it take for me to get the eibach springs and koni struts after you get my money?

well I ordered my stuff at the beginning of this month. Took about 6 days to get my springs (of course I ordered them on a Friday. I'm still waiting on my struts, as there were no rear struts left in the country, so they had to be shipped from the manufacturer. So they're somewhere between here and Denmark...

Oh, i would recommend changing out your strut mount and boots if you haven't already.

My total with strut mounts came to $881.00 shipped.

true that all of them will wear over time...i had two sets of Toks go out and the warranty kicked in for both of them so yeah they go..but i didn't pay when they did go out. took the money from the 2nd set and put it towards konis.

tirerack calims they still have some rears, so depending on when you place your order I may just grab them from them unless you order later rather than sooner.

Just go out on a limb and order everything. You should come out right under a $1000

for those who ride the koni adjustable/eibach springs, what is the set-up you guys use for the koni in the front to make sure it doesn't blow the struts??
