Anyone have any ideas?
Anyone have any ideas?
I was in the process of doing a compression check and I was unable to get a good seal to for the gauge. The extention hose wasn't stiff enough to tighten the spark plug adapter so I tried to use a socket to tighten it which seemed to work. It uses a 3/4" socket which is a tight fit but I got it in there and tightened up the adapter. Great right? Well when I went to pull out the socket it won't come out. Stuck, @#$%, @#$#, @#$$, @#$$. After an hour of wrestling with it I still can't get it out of the head. Apparently it was tighter that I thought.
Am I screwed or is there anything that I can try? Do you think I could heat the socket and have a better chance of getting it out? Any other ideas appreciated.

I let everything cool down completely and sprayed some liquid wrench around it. I can tell that it is not as tight. I can twist it with the wrench but it doesn't move in or out just around. I can push the socket extention to the side to get a little pull but still no luck. It is a deep well socket with about 1/4 - 1/8 of the socket sticking out but I haven't been able to get it to move out anymore. ???? Any ideas?
maybe modify a screw driver so the end is a 90degree angle... give you a good pulling power compared to the extension.. IF you cant hook some needle nose VG's on it.

Umm I dont know fi you tried this.. but try it
Take some ice and set it on the socket... like in the square part so that you try not to touch the aluminum of the head iwht it... then take a propane torch adn apply ALOT of FAST heat to the outside of the "circle" in where the oil touches it... this will expand that pieces and hopefuly the ice will keep the socket cool. as thta is how it got in there :P warm aluminum head with a cool steel socket.

Wow, that thing looks lost in there. Yeah you can try what MrSector9 said, but you'll need a tool to pull it out afterwords. Do you have 0 clearance underneath that socket? Can you not get anything underneath it to maybe hook it, play around with it, and pull it up? I think your just missing the right tool for this.
