It broke years ago and thought it would look good as a "shorty" antenna but now I'm sick of it. Anyone know how to put it down?

Stop by the house, we'll drive to Brian's together and the 3 of us will figure it out then we'll play chess on top of the hood. Problem solved.

You know my antenna works but its broken in half

take the antena power lead from the stereo head unit and cut the wire. depending on what stereo u use. the wire is a diff color. keeping it plugged in through the actual antenna plug will keep it as the antenna but the power (amp turn on) wire that goes to the antena will rpevent it from going up n down if its cutt. i am drunk and cant read this propewr y so if there are tpes or anything feel fee to PM me.

You are drunk . Don't cut any wires just go back to where the jack is and feel around you see a wire for the motor, I think it had a blue sheeth, and unplug that at its connector.

Well the motor is dead and I don't need the antenna to go up/down. I have an AF receiver.

if the motor is bad and you pushed it down, you might have damaged the antenna itself since you forced it down against the motors will. probably need to replace the motor, if that will even work, and disconnect the antenna wire from your radio so that the motor wont get power when the am/fm part is on (am/fm on raises the antenna; off lowers)

i have mine disconnected for good, as well. the antenna looks a bit stupid, in my own opinion.

crummy antennas

I just unpluged the power antenna and took it out. I soldered on a standard auto antenna jack and bought a manual antenna from Metra. It's black and looks fine on the car and only cost me $15.
