BMW Headlight List (L00K)

http://www.namotorwerks.com/products...OVMTC=standard

Thar be a list of BMW headlights. Some of which look to fit in a 3rd gen, some of which do not.

I wish to know which ones would fit the best, or not. I am Really digging the ZKW Euro Ellipsoids at the bottom right. Tech service at this website stated to me that Maxima owners have installed these successfully in their 3rd Gens.

How? Theyre E36's but might not fit right. I am willing to get a custom grille made for my Maxipad and modify my front so that these can fit in there, IF there is a fit problem.

Looking for advice on these, and wiring help. I MAY go with a HID 5000/6000 set for these lights.

But will my rig require better wiring? Is there a power adapter for this Nissan to Bmw conversion? Will I need a non-OEM alternator? or will I need some kind of aftermarket power converter for these lights?

All are good questions, perhaps they have been asked here at the Max forums, But i cant find anything on THESE particular lights.

If anyone has threads tagged on these ellipsoid lights, please forward em here and I will shutup and read.

Otherwise, any help would be very much appreciated. Looking forward to showing you all a nice finished product and how I did the mods.

Thanks. It helped indirectly. Most of the links were broken, but I did find that DTM power link and a guy was selling Halo's and distributing Euro style headlights there. Im inquiring..

I dunno if he is selling Angels WITH headlights, or just selling the halos as a kit. Either way, I need to get some headlights. Mine are cracked from stray rocks and stuff. They barely spread light. Id sooner strap on a few Maglite or SureFire flashlights...

This guy quoted me $280+17S&H for Angel eyes w/custom eyelids in a pair of E36s. Can someone post a pic of the E36s vs the ZKWs you got? Or let me know if theyre the same as the ones I called out in post1.

I got off track originally going after those Ellipsoids and ended up considering the E36s, I dunno if thats OEM BMW or not. I want to make sure I get the ZKWs, but Id like the angels in them.

What bulbs you got in the ZKWs you have man?

SOooo, back to my lights.

Im going to go ahead and order These tomorrow.

Its coming with the wiring harness swap for he BMW only.

Does there exist a harness to swap these BMW's to Nissan? Or am I going to have to do it myself or take it to a shop? And I need some advice on switching the angels on and off. I have a 92 GXE, and right next to my Cruise control button there is an empty space. I was thinking of getting an extra Emergency lights button and wearing off the warning triangles, Put a halo image there and wiring it to that location. Would that work fine?

Gotta bright white Max, So blue angels or white?

Also getting a custom grille made. Will post before & after pics when im done.

Most BMW owners wire the angel eyes into the corner lights, so they can be turned on when the corner lights come on.

I just got done welding an entire front end to my car. Then I had to troubleshoot why it was idling low, overheating, making noises while turning, shutting itself off, getting terrible mileage, AND I had a major imbalance. I had EGR problems in 3 places. I had a bad fuel rail. I had bad injectors. My F/L and F/R Axles were due. And i had to splice nearly everything electrical. Hopefully I can do my lights.

this quote makes me think you dont understand that the harness are universal. A 9005 will plug into any 9005 on any make. but our stock is 9004 so youll just have to splice that to get them to work....

This max is my first car ever, I hacked another Max (R.I.P.) to restore mine becasue I dont want anything else. So I know nothing about other manufacturers products and their compatability with each other. For all I knew, BMW had their own connection system. But thanks for the knowledge. Thats why Im here.

I don't see anyone with angel eyes on the road anymore, interesting how some cars don't last.

to answer your questions, regardless of manufacturer, lights need just 2 things to make them work. power and ground. the max setup is a combo light where there is only one bulb for both high and low beam. bmw, has 2 bulbs, so you take the grounds, connect them and either wire them to the dinky stock max wiring...............or ground the to the frame. take the 2 possitives and figure out which one is low and which is high with a test light and connect them accordingly. if they come with the stock mount brackets just modify them to fit on the rad suppt, you have to trim some of the suppt for optimal fit, and they still have humongoid gappage.to my knowledge no one has put in angel eyes(or at least made a big fuss over it) on a 3rd gen. same principal though. power ground, probaly a relay there for good measure. i would maybe tap into the marker lights to trigger the angles to turn on.

dont take this the wrong way but for someone who just clipped the front of their car and fixed all those problems should not be asking a simple question like this. unless someone else did that work.

i know that it would be a lot easier for me to do all the mechanical work with the frame and motor than it would be for me to figure out how to run electrical components. electrical issues have always been over my head.

i'll be honest, iver never paid that much attention to it. most e36's have been done with the stock black plastic housings. why anyone would spend the money on the glass ones to have them fit just as bad as the plastic ones is beyond me. buy the plastic ones, use the clear wade covers and BAM. Beautiful flush e 36's. but i digress. i dont recall someone with angle eyes on e36's. im sure its been done, but not as often as just e 36's

are these those ZKWs ellipsoids? I've been considering getting some BMW headlights, but just now realized how expensive they are! Do they usually run this high? I mean, I know it's BMW and all... but $700 for a pair?! Guess I'll need a 2nd job.
