wierd problem....

ok i have the gxe with the touch pad entry. it works fine. i can roll the windows down using the touchpad, but i cant roll the window down from inside the car, with the normal switch or the one touch switch. however, i can roll the window up from inside the car. is this caused by a bad 'master' switch(the one that can control all the windows)? or something different, like a gremlin inside my door that only blocks that? btw, i can roll down both passensger side windows using the 'master' switches, but the driver rear wont go down with it. but i can hear it trying to go up when you go in that direction. so is it possible for the switches to only fail in one direction?

hehe, i actually just got done working on the master switch pcb of my black car about 20 minutes ago. actually it's not my car anymore, it will be in the hands of its new owner tomorrow. but i said i would fix the window as a courtesy before i deliver the car. i had the same exact same problem except no touch pad here. after taking the switch box apart and examining the pcb, i discovered a couple faint burns, on one of the traces, shaved off some laquer on both sides and bridged a wire across and all's good. i should have taken a pic before reinstalling it to show you where the gap was. it's always nice to fix instead of buying new parts. all of the switches worked except for driver window down and auto down. up worked and all other switches worked. see if you can't fix it before buying another one.

nice hack - may try this as well once all window regulators are re-connected and working. touchpad works occasionally - but not always. ??
