Weekend projects and stuff

Been a busy weekend for me, but managed to do a few things to my car. Friday night I put my WSP back pipe back on - I have the full WSP exhaust and have been using to stock back section and muffler. I'm moving this week and can only keep one. I took it off initially because it was (and still is) a little too loud for my taste, I have a Magnaflow twin oval tip that's like straight through. I figure I'll change the muffler after the move.
Today I straightened up some nagging pieces in the trunk and adjusted the front doors. Put the bike rack back on, pulled the back seat, and swapped out my rear springs. When I built this car, I put all new Tokico and Eibach suspension on. Since building up the trunk and whatnot, I don't like how low the rear sits. I also like to keep a tool box and road hazard stuff in there, too. When I actually put other stuff in the trunk, there was only like 1 finger-width between the tire and fender well. Anyway, I had a good set of SE stock springs and replaced the Eibach's in the rear. There's now about 3" of clearance above the tire, and kinda gives the car a neat rake. Load up the trunk, and it sit's fairly level. Eventually I'd like to have a trailer hitch, so the stock springs would work out better for that anyway.
There are still some things I'd like to do to it (does that ever stop?), but nothing I can't do later on. I'll be leaving behind a couple parts cars and stuff, but I'll make another post about that some other time - the next couple weeks are going to be busy enough.
Here's a quick pic of it's new stance. I still have the Eibach pro kits on the front, with the stock SE springs now on the back. Sorry the picture kinda sucks, but it's late and I have more packing to do....

The wheels were stripped and painted black for my old car (super white w/ black trim, etc.) When I built this car, they just got transferred over. I'll do something different with the wheels when it's time for new tires. Till then....

No...stock wheels, a little lower/wider than stock tires. Anyway, I've been flamed for the wheels before, so let's not get back into that - if someone wants to give me a set of 16" or 17" newer maxima wheels, than bring'em here. Till then, I'm going to ride out this set of tires before making any wheel changes.

Here's a couple pics I just took with the car out in the sun....

Notice the Magnaflow muffler that I put back on this weekend. You can also see where I painted the underside of the spoiler a metallic charcoal to match my bike trays and the bottom of the car.

Side profile w/ the Thule rack on top. You can kinda see the rake from the stock rear springs.

Please read the above posts - I didn't lower it, I put the stock springs back on the rear.
The only difference is that the one pic was taken inside last night, and the others were taken outside today. Maybe they settled in a little overnight, dunno.

The little red line on the second pic isn't quite accurate because of the shadow from the fender. I measured the gap on the car and it's about 1/2" lower than last night.

I'd like to be able to pull a small trailer or jetski behind my car. Why - because it can handle it. Hard as it may be to believe, not everybody tries to make 3rd gens into race cars. When you guys drop 'em to the ground, slap on 18's, turbo, and all that good stuff, I don't knock it. I could just as easily ask you 'why not get a real sports car?' I mean seriously, if I was going to build a race car, it wouldn't be four door and FWD.
God forbid I actually try to get some utility out of my car. Q: why have a bike rack A: to carry my bike. Q: why have a trailer hitch A: to fukking pull something behind. Q: why do any kind of mods to your car A: because it's yours and you can.

haha dont get mad. your car is being used as a multipurpose vehicle...I think that great. You will have no problem pulling a jet ski or small trailer. I miss my jetski. ideally we would all have a car to drive and an SUV or truck to carry other stuff in but we all cant afford more vehicles...so make the one you have do the stuff you need it to.

My Maximas have always been the "extra" car since I have a company Cherokee and the wife owns a van (used to have a couple of maximas for her as well) so thats why it gets modded to look good with maybe a little discomfort (low stance and not great ride) because I dont need it to do all the stuff you need yours to do.

Its just that some people dont like how it looks (including me) but thats beside the point...the point is that its functional and in the end thats all that matters if you have a daily driver.

And if I wanted to build a vehicle to tow with and haul bikes around, it wouldn't be a four door unibody sedan with IRS and FWD.

You got me, too. I just thought I'd tell my little weekend story and all I seem to get back is **** about my wheels or whatnot, or comments from people that just look at pictures and don't actually read.
Am I the only one that notices the pattern - someone posts something that's not even a question for help or anything, then there a bunch of ignorant and oppinionated comments, the whole topic goes off track, and it becomes some sort of pissing match. There's a big difference between giving constructive criticism and just being a dumb a$$hole. Given the thread title, I figured a couple people would make a comment here or there, or maybe post something they did this weekend, or maybe just say 'good luck with the move.' No - you guys just b!tch about this or that or just try to berate someone else's ride. If you don't like my car, that's fine - it's still cleaner, better built, and more mechanically sound than 90% of the other 3rd gens I actually see on the road...and I built it myself (something a lot of you guys can't really say).
Maybe it's the relative anonymity of posting on message boards that allows people to just say whatever and not think about it. Or maybe some guys get off on baiting someone into and argument online because in real life they are a douche. I don't know, haven't figured that one out yet. I'm not mad, just disappointed that every other thread seems to turn out like this. It's no wonder why people like wiking (who was a great asset to this site) don't come back. Think about it. Anyway, I have a big day ahead of me tomorrow - maybe I'll check back in a week or two.

Did you not want any opinions?

So, having other members give you their opinions on your car, makes them a$$holes?

Boohoo...Every time you come on here, and post some upgrade you done to your car,you get butthurt when someone gives a negative comment about it...

If you can't handle any negative comments about your freaking car....

haha you havent been flamed IMO. You should have been here years ago when Matt would really tear into the newbies. Just do your car like you want to and enjoy it but there are always critics out there. I have "built" (that should be rebuilt and repair) a few of these cars and do all of them the way I want to do it. If you like it good if you dont good...It doesnt bother me because as long as I like it then I am happy.

Good luck with your move and again dont get offended because many dont like your taste.
