Wow, my Max ran in ditch!

Okay, let me start here. I love my 92 Max. So with that said I can't stand North Carolina and all of these damn ditches. Now the good stuff. I was driving along at night, and had to stop at a stop sign. Pulled out enough to see what was coming in both directions Made a left, and oooooh shyt I'm in a ditch!! You can't see it!!! So I really didn't realize what had happened, but I knew I was in trouble. So I just floored my Max and I feel the car land. I then stoped and got out. My max is smoking, and making a lot, alot of noise! I look at what happend and I had just ran in a deep ditch with big stones in and out. At this point I was thanking oh shyt I'm in trouble. I hop back in my car and proceeded to go to my manz house about a couple of feet. Well to make a long story short the only thing I had done was bust my oil filter! All in all, just a new oil filter, oil, and oil thickner my car was once again purring like a kitten. But foreal though, these things are made like a tank!!! I'll tell everyone to go get one.......

Hint: stop drinking and driving and you will see those ditches more easily.

suggestion: if the engine is running good, then take that oil thickener out and replace with your regular brand 5w30 oil.. thickeners only cause more problems later.

Thanks for the idea man. And no I was not drinking. Not yet anyways. My buddy didn't make me feel any better! He said almost went down that same ditch about a week ago. But he said he was drunk and pulled out of it just in time. I was sober and ran right into it.....lol

so basically when your oil filter was "busted" it meant you had no oil in the car???? thats why you heard alot of noise.. and probably caused some kind of damage to your motor....the smoking was probablyt oil on your motor..

well i don't know too anything about the vg30de or ve30 but i do know that on the vg30e the oil filter is mid engine so it would take a act of god to break it. take it the other 2 motors the oil filter is on the bottom of the block

for the VG30DE, it's in roughly the same place as your VG30E.

for the VE, it's on the bottom, front, right corner of the block...

that's a terrible place for an oil filter. sure the oil pan is already there, but an oil pan is a lot more durable than a filter. at least you don't have to worry about pouring oil all over the place when you change it though, but still. chalk up another benefit of the vg
