Who all has sunroof wind deflectors?

Do you guys have problems with yours in the wind?

On highway driving, and speeds above 70 or so (windy conditions), I've usually gotten this HORRENDOUSLY loud flapping noise on my car and would resonate through the whole cabin. I could never quite figure out what it was. I mean this noise was/is LOUD and would scare the absolute crap out of you. I remember it even happening back a few years ago when I got a trunklid from Paul (klown) and scaring the shiz out of him

A few years ago I thought it was my CF hood catching air and rattling, then most recently I thought it was my Stillen lip and/or lower fender rattling in the wind. Then just the other day I realized it was my sunroof wind deflector flapping against the sunroof glass!!

I've been completely unable to figure that out until the other day. Anybody else have this completely annoying problem?

I'd take my deflector off in a heartbeat if it hadnt dug grooves into my roof

Hahahahaha!!! Mine has done that ever since i have had it...Especially in cold weather...Freaked me out the first time i heard it
I thought the fender or something was about to fall off..

Actually i found that it is catching air underneath the front of it,causing it to slap the roof of the car....
I thought about glueing it down in the middle to prevent it from doing that again..

funny shiz..... I bought one and it scared the crap out of me. Thought
I blew my motor at first. Pulled off the highway and all was good, then
as soon as I got to 65-70 and passed a semi, there was the noise again.
So I took the deflector off. I want to put it back on, but dont know how
to prevent the "crazy noise". Thought maybe clear caulking or something

Got the same annoying issue James.. Maybe try blocking the underneath part where it is most likely catchin air with some sealant of some sort.

I like the clean look of no deflector anyway. I have one on my current car but will be taking it off when I get it running.

when i'm doing 75 - 80 on a windy day something inside my heater ducts vibrates and flaps, usually when i'm using the floor and dash vent combo setting. i slow down til it stops, change to floor only and take off.

well i'm not gonna say how fast my dad was pushing the car, but mine did the same thing, the air got up under it and we thought we had blew the engine, dad turned the motor off and high speed on the interstate and in the middle of a curve however, if you open the sun roof completely it won't do it anymore, i dunno how to keep it from doing it though, its completely tightened but someone the wind forces it open

Is there really any advantage to have that other than to cover up the damage it has done to the roof over the years? My cars have never had them, and I will drive with the sunroof open right up to 85mph with no issues.

I have taken the deflector off of all four maximas I have owned. Number one I hate the way they look. They look like a freakin' bug deflector that old people put on the hood. They also rattle over 100. The car looks much sleeker without it.
