ECU reset

simple question...How do I reset the ECU on my '89 GXE, and where it is, under the passenger seat or behind the radio? I recently added a JWT Pop-charger and new, non-restrictive mid-pipe (no resonator) and also want to know if I need to reset it, or it it's recommended. Thanks...

No reset is needed...

But if it will make you feel better, just pull the ecu fuse or disconnect the negative cable on the battery...

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but as I can't post a new thread *doh*, I was wondering if anyone know if the ECU's of the 89' SEL and a 90' SEL are interchangeable? Or did they change anything between the diffrent mods?

Well first of all,3rd gen maximas models are SE or GXE...There is not a SEL..

Second,yes they are interchangable..

Yeah, mine is a SE (L for leather) 89 mod. I have just tried a 90 mod ECU from UK, but all it does is splutter and cough. Doesnt seem to ignite properly.

The connector and all fit. I have also noticed in ECU's on ebay and such all have pretty much diffrent partnumber. The one I need has A18-A17E75. (Norwegian?).

Are there big diffrerences from UK/US/Europa/Scandinavia?

Ooops...I didn't see you were in a different country...I am not certain which ones are interchangable on non-us models...
