please help me save time

ok guys i have been having this prob for awhile and seems to be getting worse so time to get it fixed, but im not sure what the prob is. It all started about 6 months ago while sitting at an idle my car all of the sudden started to miss just a bit, and not a constant miss either just every so often. Also it does it while driving but not during heavy acceleration, it pulls great when i accelerate just at low rpms is when this happens. There is no repatition to the miss just whenever it wants. Once in awhle it wont do it at all and other times it will be almost constant.

Any ideas, i would like to pin point the prob before i start digging in

First thing to do is check/clean all the electrical connectors to sensors/injectors/etc.....

Intermittent problems are commonly due to a poor connection to a sensor or other electrical device..

not neccesarily I had what I'm assuming was one fail intermittently, it ended up fixing itself so i never could confirm it's demise

somtimes i think mine has fixed itself, but then a few days later the dreaded miss will come back.

i hope it fixes itself, i have not had to rip into the motor on my 92 yet but once i hit 250xxx im doin a complete rebuild (currently at 223xxx) so not too far off, my 89 made it to 275xxx before had to put head gaskets in and that is still being drove daily so i hope the 92 will make it but im am starting to doubt it

I would be looking at your coil packs. This is what mine did when I had some cracks in one of the front coil packs. Check them over really good for cracks.

Later on, mine would have the stalling/bucking problem that turned out to be one of the rear coil packs.

Nissan does not recommend running f/i cleaner in their injectors because the chemicals in most cleaners are too harsh...the ill effect of cleaners is cumulative,in other words one treatment in a attempt to unstick a injector is not going to destroy your f/i system/injectors...But periodic use over time can damage the injectors...

You can sometimes "unstick" a gummed up injector with f/i cleaner and get it back in operation again...It's a shot in the dark though...

One or two of them may still be bad even if they have no cracks...I help a local org member out a few weeks ago with his missing problem, none of his coil packs had any cracks...We swapped mine out of my car,the miss was gone...

If you were closer i would swing by and help you out...

You can, but testing them doesn't always help. They have a tendency to test OK, but fail under load.

According to the FSM, they should test out at .8 ohms and show 12 volts.
