I just bought a 94 Se i owned a 3rd gen 1990 SE about 3 years ago. Then went to a fourth gen 1997 now back to a 3rd gen. Anyways i dont remember about the 3rd gen is which buttons light up. All that is lighting up for me is my clock, gauges, thermostat, radio and shifter, i dont know if the following should light up: power window buttons , fog light button, power windows button, dimer button, rear defog button, and hazard button , etc. If so please tell me what it might be. I have checked all the fuses all are ok. thanks

 

you've probably got a bunch of bad bulbs, they do go out after 12 years you know.

 

are they easily changed?

 

Sadly they aren't, most of them require switch disassembly.
I've just learned to go by feel. works ok except for cruise and fogs, I forget which is which.

 

when i had my 1990 none of them were out and it was about 14 years old at that time i find it weird all of these are out all door switches etc

 

Wow...I have the same problem with the cruise and fog..most of my lights are also out with the automatic climate control screen..I also go by feel and memorization. I dont mind but other people hate it!

 

My cruise activation is off, but my "Cruise Cont." is on. Fog Light button, on. I think power windows should be off because I have a new control panel on the door. Dimmer,on, Rear defrost: on, fogs and hazard on.

That's just me.

 

so does anyone have a solution or maybe a wiring schematic to look at so we can figure this out. thanks

 

when i took ownership of the max it had most of the bulbs in the buttons burnt out too. When summer came around, I simply replaced them all with blue LEDs.

I can't remember the url for craigB's site. He had a tutorial complete with pictures on how to convert to LED for all your switches and the digital climate control. Could some old timer kindly point out CraigB's site?
