All right, the other day I was reading a post on removing the panels along the side of the doors. Since mine are faded, I decided to do this. Well, yesterday I pulled the ones on my passenger side off. Now I can't get all the glue off. It looks fine from a distance, but when you get close to it, you can see a sticky residue and it's sticky to touch. The post said to use wd40, I tried that, and I tried this stuff called Goo Gone. Neither has worked. I have spent a couple good hours scrubbing and I don't know what else to do. Help me out before I remove the other side! How should I get this "glue" off easier?

people don't like the idea but i used a razorblade along with the WD40. if you take your time you should be OK but one mistake and you could have some scratches...

there is this stuff that is made up of citris acid. it required a lot of scrubing. but it will come off after you let the stuff soak in. good luck.

you'll be waiting forever because these aren't custom made...

the only proper way to get them back on is to get the old adhesive off and attach new adhesive to the moldings and reattach...basically no matter how you look at the adhesive needs to be removed...

8 hrs? hahaha

it took me about 2 days from start to finish. (includes eating and stuff like that) figure a day a side. have fun. but when you are done it looks really nice. i think mine came out really good. with no scraches or anything. my arms are jacked now from all of that scrubing. but if you asked me would i do that again i would say HELL NO.
good luck

All I know, is that most auto body shops have that stuff that takes the adhesive off, but good. I can find out what it's called, and get back with you. Or just drop me an e-mail. Since I'm at work right now, I won't find out anything until later on today. Then, I'll check back on the posts to see if you still need the info. I'll try to get prices, too.

Jacob, when the heck did you tell me not to do this? You told me to b/c you said the glue just peels right off!

Hey Nupe, what is that stuff you are talking about? If you can get me some information on it, I would appreciate it. E-mail me at matt92gxe@yahoo.com Thanks man!!
