How often do you wash your car? I am asking this question because I want my car to look and perform as best as possible. I usually wash my car like every two-three weeks if the weather is good. Also how do you guys get your Maximas so shiny, I see some of the signatures of some of the people here and their Maxima is mad shiny, I want to know how to do that. If you have any tips or pointers, you can gladly post that also. Thanks

Well i'm all flat black, so the least bit of road dust sticks....

 

I tend to wash my car around every 2/3 weeks as well (or if it gets dirty enough that I can't stand it) but as for cleaning the inside....I attack it with a vacuum more than once a week.

 

Every Tuesdays = basic bath and pick up , Thursdays = basic bath and vac, Saterdays = Amazing Bath + Wax. I wish my car had a better painjob it would look hella clean:-(

I hate washing my car cause its seems everytime i wash it, something bad happens. Last time, I got a flat the day after I washed it. The time before that i messed up my throw out bearing and before that I hit a pothole and made a hole in my oil pan ... so my car shall remain dirty.

I do mine about once a month. Depending upon how dirty it gets. Of course I usually wax mine about every other month. This helps keep most of the grim off.

But I won't have to be worry about cleaning it anytime soon.

 

I wash my 99 every week or more often if it gets dirty. My 92 and 93 that my daughters drive---well they never fricken wash 'em and it drives me nuts. When they come home I might wash them if I feel like it but I do it less than I used to.

I wash my car 1 to 2 times per week and I used to wax my car every other wash but I have gotten lazy and I havent wax recently at all ..... In all honesty I wax the drivers side of the car that I always see so it makes me think my car is shiney when its not waxed all the way around.!!!

i use to wash 1 time a week, but i got tired after 2 months, espically after 1 day of driving my wheels have dust like crazey, so im going to every 2 weeks or when ever i feel like it

 

I use to do it very rarely since I don't have a garage/hose and have to pay $5+ to get a regular wash. But recently I've found out if you leave it dirty for too long, it really messes with your paint. My paint job still looks pretty decent, so I may as well take care of it with some polish and wax too.

 

During the winter months here, it's about once a month. It just rains too much here in the Puget Sound area...

 

The paint on my max isnt what you would call good. so it being dirty doesnt bother me at the moment, so i wash it about once a month after its painted however, clean and shiny, at least once a week if not more

 

my old black max I'd wash every couple of days because it was uber shiney and I hated the pollen/dust.

Now I just kind of wash cars when they need it. I'd be better about it if I had an undercover/garage spot but oh well.


If you want smoother paint, try a clay bar. It won't really make the car shine more (although I suppose it could) but it will remove all the crap embedded in the paint over time. You won't believe the difference. Otherwise polishing the car or even just using decent wax will help out.

The other part of it is how you take the pictures, just have to find the angles/lines that work.

 

I don't like to hand wash very often so I'm looking for a good automatic car wash...

 

I wash mine about once a week. Since it's black it doesn't stay clean much longer than that. Well, not clean enough for me anyway.

 

I can't judge washing by how often, weekly, etc.

I think I wash it once per every 200 miles, roughly.

The rest of the time it just sits in the garage. If I have free time and it isn't roasting hot (like if I have a free morning), I will wax it. That is usually 4-5 times a year.
