FOG Light Rust

ok... i have my foglight apart to where i can put whatever in the lens and clean all the rust out... what can i use?

also lol... is there an EASIER way to take this fog light assembly apart other than the screws holding the lens on it was really aggrivating using a L shaped phillups head screwdriver

but i want something to clean out the rust and stuff

Why...its not worth the time or effort to get it looking good. Just buy a new lens from a discount dealer for $25. No its not just the glass cover but the whole sealed lens assy. which includes the reflector.

And the best thing to do is pull the entire fog light with bracket down by the two 10mm bolts that hold it onto the bumper.

I always use a 1/4 inch ratchet with a long extension and short (not deep well) 10mm socket without any problems. The 1/4" ratchet extension is no bigger around than a screwdriver so it usually fits up there perfectly.

A tip on putting them back in though is to start it with a screwdriver so you dont cross thread them trying to do it with a ratchet.

I dont think anyone mentioned cheap aftermarket fogs.

I was talking about the lens assy. from the dealer.

here is what you get (although in my pic its my old lens assy)...the part number is on the box:

call up Dave Burnette at Southpoint Nissan.

888-254-6060

or nissanparts.cc

or courtesy.

Dave is probably going to be the cheapest but get the price from nissanparts.cc (you can get it from their website) which is $28 and ask to see if Dave can beat that.

***edit for resize***

are you serious...if you have the lens off like the one shown above you can see that the bulb can indeed come out...its not hard at all...you just flip a tab.
