Rear fenders rusted through - to fix or not to fix?

The rus has eaten thru the metal just behind the rear splash guards.
How much does it cost to fix and is it worth fixing?

the real question is can you weld?
if you can , then cut it off and make some patch panels to weld in.
if you can't then don't bother.

if you cant, get some treatment spray from advance or w/e and find some one that can weld.

I've put a bottle of RustCheck everywhere underneath, under the hood and in the trunk etc. The cars don't last forever, I knew it was coming. I'll drive it to the ground and let it rust at its own rate.

If you can not weld it is probably going to cost you alot more than you are willing to shell out. Just drive into the ground man!

I asked about rust repair tips here awhile ago, at the time concerning the right front strut starting to break through the strut tower (it was actually starting to push that side of the hood up!). I was advised to not bother, cuz there was bound to be other body or structural issues elsewhere that haven't popped up yet, and I'd be chasing the problems forever. Well, I didn't have the cash for another Max at the time, so I had a bud patch weld it back together. He did an awesome job, and it's fine after a year later. BUT since then, a bit of rust at the rear wheel wells and rockers turned so bad, it won't even pass inspection! Also, when I went to change the rear struts, similar problems. So, consider how far you want to go with it.

I now have an almost identical '93 in much better shape, and I plan to use the former as a parts car.

Can you take a pic of it? It may not be that bad. I patched many holes in my rear fender wells. Many holes

Course now my floor is rusting through...hum wonder if pine would hold up.

Thank God I live in a less wintery/salty part of the country - no rust what so ever on my 92!!!
