finalllllllllllllllllly the tick is back

after 1.5years of the black beast sitting in my driveway its back and ticking like its allways has

the pics are pretty self explainitory

the 2 on the right are the num 2 rod bearings "probobly the one causing all the knocking"

the 2 on the left are what the rest looked like

what i found when i pulled the rear valve cover probobly causing all the extra loud ticking

probobly the reason i had no 4th gear althought 3rd still worked so im kinda puzzled on that one

i was originaly planing to rebiuld the old engine but with pressure from my parents to fix it and the fact that my truck only gets 15mpg i just bought another engine local for 700 with supposedly 88k and slapped it in

the first time i fired it up wow what a releif and a big smile on my face then the 1st drive boy i just fell in love all over again you know the saying "time makes the heart grow fonder" definitly applied just amazing the shifting is like butter the A/C still ice cold and the POWER OH the POWER and i havnt even sprayed it yet gotta get that bottle filled quick

and then theres my friends faces when they saw me pull up PRICELESS alot of them thought it would never run again and i would just tell them it would and i do keep my word, they literally lined up to drive it one of my "newer" friends said after a 1st-3rd blast damn i never knew a car like this could pull like that

ive put 250miles on it now and i voe to get more than a year out of this engine so im going "alittle" easier on it, my dad said if i bring it home with one more blown engine "its going" which is BS but you get the idea the nice thing is that i drive my truck for work dayly so i can keep the fun for the weekend so it should last at least till i move out in a year or 2

all i can say is its nice to be back

Good to hear shes up and running !!!!!!

Is nitrous ok to fire into a 3rd gen VG with stock internals ?

The engine could prob handle it but the trans can't???

VGs like anything that gives them more power. N20 or boost its all good. The VG is alot stronger then the trannys thats forsure.

heres a pic of the car

i dont think the nitrous had anything to do with the engine problems since it was only used maybe .1% of the total drive time

You had me going at first, I thought you were going to rebuild it, even after all that damage, I bet she would run again

Nice work!

Nice. I want to see you spray it sometime.

My max is sick right now. I need to replace the control arm bushings, a fuel injector, my exhaust manifold studs, and I need to weld up my front tranny mount because I somehow fscked up the threads in the subframe.

After all that it should run like a new car, but I dont know when I'll have the time.
