Max rolled into house

So I park my Max in front of a friends house earlier tonight and go inside. I come out 10 minutes later to find it gone. It was dark out so it took me a minute to spot it down the street against someone's front porch stairs. I back the car away. She comes out and says she heard a crash a frew minutes before, calls cops, file accident report, yada yada. Messed up stairs a bit, I offered to help fix them, no biggie.

Upon first inspection it looks like the front bumper is marked up a bit, will probably come off with rubbing compound. It also ripped the plastic splash guard off the bottom of the car when it mowed down her mailbox. After getting home I realize there are two gouges down to bare metal on the hood. Also leaking coolant and radiator fan is rubbing on shroud making a noise. Too dark to tell if the radiator is punctured or just a hose. We'll see tomorrow...

moral of the story: don't forget to put your car in gear when you park!

Wow that's quite a bit of damage for a roll situation. Was it far away or it must have been going fast or something?

Bummer.. Too bad you couldn't have been as lucky as Hectic was. At least your car isn't possessed

Did you have the hand brake up all the way?

e-brake needs adjusting, doesn't work so well. And I guess I forgot to mention that the car rolled almost half a block!

Hmm Strange. I cannot take the key out unless the car is in park, so how did you do it?

You left the key in???

I didnt put my car in gear after putting a remote start on it...I would just pull up the Ebrake. Now if I were to part on a steep incline then I would put it in gear and not worry about the RS. BTW I did have the RS set up so it would not crank in gear.

O I C
Yeah you won't get that auto treatment. Well if you stopped and put the car in N, you cannot pull the key out unless you activated the E-brake would be a good equivalent. Or do anyone see are problem with that? The guys at Nissan must have a reason not to put that feature in.

Removed the radiator to find a small puncture hole near the bottom. Then went on a wild goose chase to find someone to fix it. Ended up leaving it at a shop in the middle of butt-f#$%ing nowhere (you don't understand, Michigan's U.P. is already no-man's land)...Supposed to be ready tomorrow afternoon. I would replace it, but the radiator is fairly new and the damage is minor. Over all, I'm most pissed about the paint. I will get it fixed, but paintwork always costs a few bucks.

Also broke part of the fan shroud off. If you have a fan shrould or splash guard available for sale, let me know.
