I agree. My loans went up for me and I never consolidated (I get grace periods), but pay on time.
Get rid of it. Who knows what future trouble it may cause.

i honestly agree with you!

After ur finish with college, got your degree then instead of buying a 94 maxima u'll get the vary latest one and also maybe a lamborgini for the weekend!!!

You can always buy a good 95-1998 max and over the time fix it up..but dont just throw away all your money into a hole and expect a good out come, u never know what the future might bring you!!!

Or buy Cliff Clavin's red VE 5-sp and still have $6 grand left. it's for sale in the classfieds and it's engine swap is well documented here.

or buy my black VE5 that will be pretty much brand new (all major problems fixed or replaced and then some) when I finish it and still have almost 5K to play with.

rebuilding a 3gen would be last on my list. if rebuilding i'd pick a different platform to make my own out of. I'm with the others on using the money for school. it really is a ***** to worry about a huge debt while studying...

i also go to drexel and co op and all that BS. I would save the $$ and drive the max. People around here can't park for S***. I have seen my car backed into too many times to get something nice and park it on the streets of DU.

Unless u take some of that $$ get a parking pass and get a used 3 series BMW.

Honestly I would say a BMW e34 525 (dead reliable and good on gas...also not too bad in the snow either!), a Infiniti Q45, Lexus ES, or Lexus GS. All are pretty reliable, the BMW and Infiniti are chain driven cams so that cuts down on costs a little, very comfortable cars that aren't meant for driving fast, look dead sexy, and did I mention reliable?

You get get any of those for around $5000-8000 and spend the rest for small modifications like a CarPC or fun stuff like that!

As much as I love my 3rd gen with its dead sexy stance and incredible potential for FWD, given the money, I honest would drive an e34 or Q45 over it. I will probably continue to keep the 3rd gen in the family as a reliable backup now that it is in the hands of someone who actually takes care of their cars...me >.< I like to take the corners very fast, and the feeling of understeer scares the **** out of me personally...I much rather prefer the rear to loose control. Plus, traction control on those cars might help you out some.
