Crossmember Carnage

I punched it in second today and heard a snap. My crossmember snapped right where it bends in front of the motor. I was suprised cause' I have rubber mounts and it doesn't even look rusty at all, I think it might have something to do with my new wheels, I just went from stock sawblades to some 17's and kumhos. If anybody has an extra one let me know I will buy it!

lol...Jon broke the x-member that used to be on my car...Before I sold him the car, I swapped the x-members and motor mounts. His car used to have a beefed up x-member and poly mounts...I never would have imagined that his x-member would have broken with factory mounts and a clutch that grips only a little better than an oem. Must be the damn 235/45-17w kumho ecsta supra 712's.

Sorry to hear that Jon...I'm sure you and Ryan will have it fixed and re-enforced in no time.

Yeah Ryan is coming over tommorow with welding capabilitys. I think I'm going to buy one off of Jeff if he can find it and possibly beef that one up.

Yup, there's a thread on how to reinforce it, if I recall. Also, I believe Matt offers beefed up crossmembers...but you have to send him one to work on.

Well apparently it wasn't just a random break. After I took it out of the car I noticed that it must have cracked on the top a while ago right next to the first mount bolt because the top of the broken spot had rust on it and the rest was clean...
