I say buy it and pay with paypal, then file a chargeback when you can't get the VG30DETT to fit. FREE CAR FTW

got a reply to my email, fyi

Actually you can. They just have to get a different intake manifold cuz the
1 of the TTZ is to large but the one from a later maxima fits over the
VG30DETT and it all works out.

It may fit but....

The rear turbo wont fit
you need the ecu and harness
custom motor mounts
custom piping
i think you have to mod the tranny to make it work since its a RWD engine
etc....

It would be akin to converting the maxima to RWD in terms of money and man hours IMO.

Why do statements like this happen? No car company ever has made two versions of the same engine code. A VE30 block is a VE30 block. They are all made from the same casting. If a trans will bolt up to one it will bolt up to another. The transmissions are different but not the bolt patterns.

I apologize for using you as an example 89blackse, that is all I am doing, using you as an example, not criticizing you or questioning your intelligence. Please do not be offended.

You are correct on the rest. You would need to figure out how to plumb the turbos to make it work...or move the firewall to make the rear turbo fit. Anything can be done, it just takes work, desire, patience, and often a lot of money.

why doesn't anyone believe that guy can put a 300z TT? I just plain out don't understand you guys. It's upsetting to me that fellow enthusiasts, not even just Nissan or Maxima enthusiasts, but car enthusiasts don't have faith.

If that guy says a V10 viper engine will fit into a Maxima he's selling, maybe he knows something we don't? Maybe he's relocated the engine to the trunk, and thus also removing the back seats, which then allowed for a full RWD conversion, and hence providing you all the car that the seller has advertise.

I tell ya... you all need to just listen and reflect on what type of enthusiasts you are! I am very disappointed. I will buy his car! I will buy it! and I will show you what he's knows that we just might not have grasped when we went through Car class in elementary school. Cut the guy some slack.

*edit*
In no way shape or form am I supporting nor validating the statements made by the seller of the vehicle this thread is referring to. I will take no responsibility for those who think what I said might have a milligram of truth and whom may act upon those beliefs that were formerly stated.

Im just saying that it will bolt up, but the starter may not be in the same place as the fwd tranny.

Good point.

still I read statements far too often where others actually think there is a difference between FWD and RWD engines. It is annoying at best.

Thank you. car enthusiasts should always keep an open mind and NEVER say it can't be done. There are way too many examples of modifications on vehicles that are extreme.

And I too love the disclaimer.

So I can bolt in a Z33 RWD VQ35 into a 4th gen? sw33t.

Disclaimer- I know the engine mount casting is diffrent between rwd and fwd VQ's, and I know thats not possible. the tranny bolts up, but not the mounts...

Wait, I don't get it.. One engine is in a RWD car and the other is in a FWD car.. I don't see how the engines mix here when it comes to a swap without some seriose custom fabrication. WTH on earth is this guy talking about!?
