Trunk Lid Take 2 (Wrx tail) + bonus

Taking a break from the front bumper because of the chill. Decided to redo the trunk lid. The first one didn't come out right... so this is the 3rd lid on this car.

I found the best piece of metal to fill the middle of the lid is a piece of another maxima's roof! Being I had a spare, the metal already has some bracing, and a prefect curve. So after 4 hours or labor so far. Here's where I'm at.

bonus.
Being that the gears from my last vg transmission only lasted long enough for a trip to Vermont and back to move my father in law and family. I decided that I should give the gears to him for Christmass .

That looks pretty good, any other plans for the back end to try and stay with the aggressive look you have going on the front?

I need to do something with the rear kit. It has square cuts out for dual exhaust, but it doesn't match the round tips I have. So I might make the openings round and simple. Or Cut that whole section out and the rest is a secret.

How'd you learn to fabricate?

haha I knew the roof would work. That is exactly what I was going to do if I filled in my trunk piece. At the time I had 3 roofs to chose from but I only have one now since I got rid of the other two cars. Glad its going well. Looking good.

na too much work on a car I will probably not keep. I have seen a couple other tail lights I wouldn't mind trying though.

The new trans is sooooooo sweet. I havn't understeered at all. Feels more planted on the road.

I'd shave other lids for ppl.. But I don't have a car with stock tail lights, the parts car is to banged up to make one

Lid is just about done. Now to work on the tail light pockets and routing the fuel filler behind the tail light.

Shavedmax I used a straight line sander. It's Tight!

Just something to look at. Redoing the tail light pocket to shave the gas filler door. Goldmembers altezza tail lights, compliments of Shavedmax.

that's a hell of alot more work than it's worth, even with an aftermarket sunroof.
