Bad front struts - what to replace with
Hi 'all
A month ago, I noticed the front left corner of the car had zero suspension travel - it looked like the front strut got stuck (and frozen) at full compression. When the temperature went above freezing, it released, and all was (kinda) well.
Well, today it's colder again, and I'm down an inch on the left vs. right front wheels - the strut seems to be pooched, and I better get on on replacing it.
So, what's good? Basically, the car's used as a kid and other people hauler around town with a few long trips per month on the freeway to Vancouver. I'm not looking for super-triple-plated air-compressed whatevers - just something that will keep the ride firm and stable under the occasional time that *I* get to drive it...
thx
Michael

There have been sooo many threads on this within my 1 year 3 months of being an org member, in fact there is an active strut thread at the moment as well, check that one for more info.
Alright my suggestion if you want something decent and decently priced. KYB GR2..Had mine nearly a year and they're great..not too stiff and not too loose. I'm using them with stock springs and they seem to have lasted so far so I'd recommend them. I think they're like 70-75 bucks each for the front plus the mounts, boots, and something else you'll need.

I would second the KYB GR2s. They should hold up well for you, as I assume you have the stock springs. KYBs also have a lifetime warranty, so you won't have to worry about replacements.
The local shop I use highly recommends them and I would buy them, but I had Tokicos first.

that's a liquidator, in other words he buys large lots when companies change lines (IE KYB to Monroe) and sells the old line which then isn't warrantied because there is no retailer to warranty it.
