is there some kinda gasket where the filter bracket mounts to the block????

i beleve its that or the oil pressure sending unit.

can i remove the altnator and then take that whle bracket off easily????? or is it tied into the oil pump and will be a pain to remove?????

Is the filter tight enough?

Yes there is a gasket behind it,no it is not tied into the oil pump...

Edit:Ooops,it not a gasket,but rubber o'ring seals..

I've had leaks there before and it's usually the oil pressure sender unit. Try tightening that, removing it and putting sealant on the threads or replacing the unit (not expensive).

The oil filter bracket can be taken off fairly easy. The most time consuming part would be taking off the alternator. There are two o-rings that are supposed to seal the bracket. The low pressure sensor is sealed with liquid gasket.

I had to change my whole bracket out on my 94SE about 2 months ago. I didn't see a dead deer in the middle of the road until it was too late and I was going about 45mph and I ran over it. Anyways my car rides on eibach springs so it is little lower then stock and when I ran over the deer it snapped my oil filter off and destroyed the oil filter bracket. All my oil drained out soon after that and I shut my car off almost immediately and coasted to a stop. I ordered a new bracket from Dave B. and some o-rings and installed it and refilled my oil and it runs fine. I was a little worried because, before I shut the engine off the valve train was making a lot of noise due to no oil pressure. Suprisingly my car still steers straight and drives fine. But I still smell the hair that is buring off the bottom of my car from time to time.
