Wiper system kicks the bucket

So only my passenger wiper wipes, and my driver side is completely dead. I can move the driver side wiper by hand, but it is fully disconnected from the motor. Is this a linkage breakage? What are my options and your recommendations? I am clueless with regards to this system, so I am in total n00b mode right now asking. Thanks in advance.

You suggest replacement with a new linkage? I'm guessing so. In that case, I may have to call in sick so I can fix it, and hope my local stealership has the linkage in stock. Thanks.

i thought there was a plastic piece that's within the linkage area that snaps when it gets cold out while pushing heavy snow.

Hey Dan, good to hear from you after so long. Yes. I took apart the cowling, and it turned out that I just had to snap the plastic piece back in place. I ended up buying a linkage for $20, but I'll probably just hang on to it.

Thanks to you and to all who helped.

The local auto parts stores sell those linkages for about $7 each. I don't know what the quality is compared to Nissan parts. I just replaced the linkage on the pass side of mine with the auto parts store version. It is too bad those plastic caps can't be replaced individually.

depending on how much money you have. if you have lots of money, get a new motor from the dealers, otherwise junkyard is your best bet. I bet yah you can get on off car-parts.com for $25 shipped.
