Exhaust wrapping Q

Ordering a Warpspeed y-pipe to replace the rotted stock, and I was wondering if there would be any gain keeping the exhaust hotter via wrapping it in some form of insulating wrap. Any ideas?

seems to me you would want your exhaust as cool as possible.. denser air = greater flow

Warpspeed actually advises against any form of wrap on their website.

I think wrapping is generally considered a bad idea. I think the biggest downfall is that the wrap traps moisture, dirt and salt (if you are in an area that gets roads salted) and that leads to premature deterioration of the metal.
