intake?
please help...good cone intake at reasonable price
I was wondering if its worth getting a regular intake. I'm really low on cash so i'm not lookin at a cold air intake but a regular one. What are some good brands and how much do they cost. Thanks
i'm lookin at a cone filter. i was wondering what companies (if any) make them for a reasonable price. when i did a search, someone said something about warpspeedperformance.com having them but i checked out the site and i didn't see any except for cai. thanks again guys.

no no no....
make your own, costs $25. go to autozone, pepboys, etc. and buy a cone filter (i got an apc filter at pepboys, $25). then take out your stock airbox, look inside it, and you'll see this copper piece. it's perfect for mounting the cone filter. just drill out the rivets that hold this piece in to get it out, bend the piece a little to allow the cone to fit over it, bolt it up, and your done. here's pics of mine:

I use to have a FSTB just like the one in your pic a few years ago, but I used washers (pretty ghetto) to raise up the whole mount. It doesn't give problems with the intake manifold until going over 40 mph...but raising it any higher would give some problems with the hood. How close does yours come to your hood?

Alright. You need the 3" adapter if you are not going to make one yourself. You need a matching 3" inlet intake, either K&N or the generic, it doesn't really matter. Both intakes are cone intakes. K&N might be available at your local parts stores but you would have to check. I was in PepBoy's today and they carry APC intakes, but I'm not sure about other stores. Any more questions?

Avalonracing.net
hey check this site out..i got a JWT for 99$..just go there and email them and they will tell you how to get the deal..Also they told me they had some Stillen intakes that where returned because of bad credit cards for i think 120$.
Just check it out.
Just check it out.
Re: Avalonracing.net
no offense guys, but i cant believe anyone is paying more than $50-60 for a cone intake! it's just not worth it at all. a cone intake gets you maybe 3-4 hp at the most, regardless of name brand or whatever. and the sound everyone is talking about, i have that on my $25 "pop-charger"
