New front main seal and whirring sound

I just had my front main oil seal replaced, and there is now a noise which sounds like a kind of metallic whirring (RPM dependent)... I'm guessing it could be either one of the tensioner pulleys (on power steering/water pump belt, or a/c belt), or could it be the water pump bearing from the belts being too tight? Anyone know the easiest/most efficient way to diagnose? Also, is there any danger in waiting until Monday to take it back to have them look at it? I don't want to blow the water pump if they put the belt on too tight.

if a car leaves the shop with a different problem than it went in with, they (the shop) are responsible to a: tell you about it if it is just lousy timing b: fix it if it is their fault

Yes, Take it back to the shop. It will teach the high school kids working at the shop with claw hammers and pliers, how to do it correctly. Basically you should be able to press with your thumb on the largest span of the belt and with a firm pressure get it to depress, say 1/2 an inch. If one feels like a steel band and won't deflect when you do this, it's too tight. Unfortunately, if the car's making noise, it's probably too late already.
