Need a starting point

My wife '94 SE this afternoon would not start. Worked this morning fine but this afternoon. The car cranks but does not start.

This leads to think it is a fuse for the fuel pump or electronics.

Other than checking fuse panel, what else should I be looking for?

1) check for codes on the ECU

2) go back to the basics -- fuel or spark. Usually it's not getting one of those

Car is working again and not sure why.
Before doing anything tried again to start and it just cranked.
I switched the fuse out for fuel pump and fog lights, and it just cranked.
I switched the fuse out for inigtion and meter and it just cranked.
Then I tried to crank again, and it caught.

I am thinking it is the fuel pump fuse, and the second try it worked because the fuel line finally filled. I will be testing the fuses tomorrow with a meter. But visually they all look good.

My fuel F/P done the same thing before kicking the bucket...This is commonly how a slowly dying fuel pump acts in it's final days...

I second the fuel pump being the problem.
My GF's car had the same issue and it was fixed but a new pump being fitted.

Located in the trunk, there is a fuel pump relay. The symptoms described in your problem are very similar to mine. My car would crank at times and sometimes it would not. One day, my car stopped working in the middle of the road...
I am pretty sure it is not the fuel pump fuse but its relay located in the trunk. In order to access this relay, open your trunk and take off the plastic moldings around the trunk latch. You will see the relays there, I think there are 2 or 3 different ones but I am not sure. Anyhow, this is a good start for finding the solution to your problem. Good luck !

Ciao
