Body kit question

I'm considering putting a body kit on the car, but when winter hits up here I'm pretty sure I'll want to remove it (easily) due to ground clearance issues with the snow.
Has anybody here installed their kits without the 3M tape, and if so, was it rattling around like a **** despite securing it tightly with bolts only?
Or, put another way, if I install with 3M is it going to be a pain to remove it?

well putting on and taking off a kit every summer and winter would get old really quick.

The Stillen kit goes on with just tape and a few screws in the fender well (adn behind license plate on back and in the front corners behind the fog lights) so its not that hard to do.

the hardest part really is removing the old tape from the kit and car.

That said I could see someone that has to deal with winter doing this. You just have to be careful taking it off so you dont mess up the paint from flexing too much.

I agree it would get old quick, that's why I was considering mounting it with screws only to make the seasonal transition easier - but is mounting without tape ill-advised? Using the tape is obviously advised, or it wouldn't... ehm... be advised, but I am curious to know what the end result is by not using the tape.
My guess is there aren't enough pre-drilled holes in the kit to keep it from rattling and one would have to add more screws to bypass using tape
I'm also guessing by not using tape it would be promoting space for moisture to get in and allow rust to eventually form.
Sounds like I'm answering my own question, but still just curious to know if anyone has mounted without tape.

cant mount it without tape. It will sag and fall off...now if you just wanted to put the side skirts on you can do those without tape (I have never used tape on the sides).

There are no pre drilled holes either...you just make them where you want to mount them.

You technically could put a lot of screws in the side of the front and rear piece but it would look ugly and you would have a bunch of holes in your metal fenders during the winter months.

The tape usually pulls off the slick paint fairly well but it is hard to get off the kit. Thats not a big deal though because you can always pull those pieces into the house and use a hair drier and other things to get it off adn you would have all winter to do it .

Now if you get some of the fiberglass kits you may be able to support them with just screws in the wheel well and the other places I was talking about. Since fiberglass is rigid it should stay in place fine...thats just me guessing though.
