not sure what your saying but for your help as the car revs up the knocking also increases in speed to. when i shift into second and rpm drops knocking also drops in speed until 25+ mph when it stops

if you've got any way to shoot a video of it, it might help if we could hear the sound and how fast it is, while watching your cluster. I wouldn't know about the VTC stuff, as I own a VG car (also VG has belt, yours has chains)

You don't need to replace the chains, they are designed to last the life of the car. Unless you do it yourself, the shop time on chain replacement is going to be close to the cost to put in a JDM engine.

More than likely, your VTCs and chain tensioners need to be replaced or rebuilt.

The power steering is likely a bad pump or you have a leak somewhere and have lost enough fluid for it to not work properly.

Neither VTCs or power steering problems will throw a code.

You dont bleed the PS system, just make sure its ATF and not clear fluid. Clear eats or doesnt lube the seals in the rack.

The system bleeds itself as you turn the wheel left and right. Just make sure you top up the reservoir.

VTC clack is the problem... there is a spring inside of it that has been warn out... and it clacks... you need 2 new VTC assemblies...or rebuild kits

P/N 13072-97E00

not the solenoids...
if you dont want to replace the solenoids you can ground them and the VTC's will no be activated.....sooo no clacking

1. do you mean two sprockets?

grouning them to 0 volts just disables them from acutating and altering your valve timing. not to be confused with physically grinding something, which is what I thought the first week i knew that a VE had VTCs, and that they clacked.. but i figured it out quickly

all that will happen, is that your low end will stay the same but you'll lose top end power......... but I own a GXE (VG30E no VTCs or chains or DOHC or none of that fancyshmancy stuff) so someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Here's a link to two service bulletins that help in diagnosing what is causing the clacking problem.
