This noise came and went (it would happen once every 6- 9 months) until about a year ago, but it's becoming more and more common (about every 5 - 10 start ups) to the point where it's becoming a concern. The noise would go away after a couple of seconds of running the engine, but not a pleasant sound at all when it is making noise. Anybody else have this problem? My car is at 126k right now and otherwise runs fine, burns no oil. I've always used Penn 10W-30 and had no problems with it..

Besides getting new lifter(s) is there something I can try?
