ticking? Or marble rolling drone?

ISB bearing isn't the hardest thing, if you can open a tranny and put it all back together.

probly isb, it stops when u push in the clutch because the input shaft stops spining, how many miles? If you could cofidently replace the clutch yourself, you should easily be able to take on a isb job. You should be able to find other threads about this, try takin a look at some of them for more info and input.

It's not as easy nearly as a clutch... Have you every changed one a isb bearing?

Consider if you F it up, then your screwed.
DO not go into without an fsm. There's what 10-15 steps in just opening the case.

That is actually basically what it is, steel marbles or ***** inside of a steel casing. They start to make this noise when the get worn out and sloppy inside of the case and will adventualy come apart into many peices, thats what happened to mine.

I have actually done two of them, my first one i replaced all of the bearings and a few other things. If it is only the one isb then it is not very difficult as long as you take your time and use common sense, and yes i do agree a FSM is a very good idea for your first time.

does this car require you to split the transmission case? or can u just unbolt a retainer and pull the shaft out?

You split the case.

When i did them i had winter on my side and put the shafts out in the snow for awhile then brought them in and heated the bearing and took them off with ease, put them on the same way, worked great.

You will only need to replace the INPUT SHAFT bearing, i replace all of the bearings in the transmisson so therefore it was shafts for me.

how hard is this going to be... i dont got a press but i could cut it off with a dremel. and tap it on. and will the other shafts hold there own in there with the case split.

dont worry about the other bearings at all, only focus on the isb, to put the new bearing on try putting the bearing in the oven for awhile then see if it will go on any easier.
Also be VERY careful with the dremel, i have not done this but goon says he has so any ?'s ask him.

Acutally you can change the others without a press, just how i mentioned above. By heating the bearings and cooling the shaft.

Heres some helpful pics

Here are some pics of what you are going to get into just make sure you keep everything clean and lay it out nicely so you won't lose parts or forget to put it back in. I pulled the tranny and had all the gears brought down to machine shop to get the new bearings pressed on if they don't come with new races I would recomend it.

As you can see we were a little un-organized with mine but we got it done and a year later it still works. Wasn't really too tough though...
