Loss of odometer/mph signal

My Old MacKanic that has a fahrm says the reason is an OE-only part that bolts onto the transmission with one or two screws, and just has a quick connect cable setup.

This true? He works on maxis often, mostly 3rd and 4th gen pads.

Need to order the part, need to make sure its not anything else as well. If so, I will order it too and take it back later if I dont need it.

Whats the sucker called?

I lost the odometer back in 2002, but my speedometer works fine. Still every meh-kanick suggests the speed sensor. I had an interesting conversation about the speed sensor with the local Nissan dealership...

Tried swapping the cluster with one that worked fine in another '93, it helped for the first 30 miles. Just don't have time for all 5 years to take an oscilloscope to the electric wiring to see where it looses the signal. It's somewhere in the harnesses.

It had better not be electrical failure somewhere. Thatd be the last straw and I'll have my MacKanic rewire everthing behind the dash like he did in my car. (talking about wifes car here).

See if your cruze still works if it does the speed senser should be good. You could have a cracked board in the cluster.
