does anyone know of a muffler that gives a little rumble? Not like a civic river but low tone.

This is a much better type of muffler for a nice deep tone growl.

Yeah well, the one Elusive posted isn't NEAR as ricey as the one '93MaximaGXE posted and it seemed you showed more interest in the "Type X" one rather than the Dual Slash Cut Tip One.

Regardless, I have a magnaflow and it definitely adds a little rumble, although I sometimes think it is too loud. I think I need to get a a B-Pipe with a resonator in it or something then it would sound perfect. Here are some pics:

And various sound clips:

you say my exhaust is ricey but in all truth it looks and sounds alot better then the type r straight through muffler posted this one sounds nothing like a rice burner. it has a more deep tone sound then that straight through muffler "Type R". and also the DTX Hayame is probably a better sound and quality muffler then that cheap type r muffler. also the dual tip mufflers are designed after the German cars exhaust mufflers.

would you like to know why it is that it really doesn't sound like rice but still looks like rice is because most the cars you see with those mufflers are 4 cylinder motor cars. but because you are putting that muffler on a v6 with a displacement of around 3000 cc's it gives it a more deep sound then it would had it been installed on a 4 banger. but in the end it still looks like rice as it looks just like a fart can aka coffee can.

I completely disagree.

Just because you have a bigger engine doesn't mean it makes a muffler a quality product. I was VERY reluctant to buy a magnaflow muffler because of the volume level, though It was only $80 and my OEM Muffler had seen better days. Regardless, no matter what kind of engine you put a "Type-X" $40 Ebay muffler on, it's going to sound like **** because it's not a good muffler to start with. There aren't any air chambers that cycle the air in the muffler to give it any kind of deep or good sound, it's cheap, and it doesn't look good either.

If you put a cheap muffler on a 4 cylinder, 6 cylinder, or 8 cylinder.... guess what?

You still have a cheap sounding rice muffler...

i personally didn't spend very little money on the muffler i bought. i spent a nice chunk of change buying a muffler i have had before and known the sound of it and know of it to be a good deep toned quality muffler now as for the straight through mufflers i highly doubt most of them will have a good quality sound (tone) for a cheap price. i would much rather spend for a good expensive muffler then go the cheap route.

I got the WarpSpeed cat back and a turbo muffler and it's pretty decent. The sound is nice when I kick it and it has a pretty nice rumble at cruising speeds. At freeway speeds it seems pretty quiet without any of that Honda FartCan(tm) droning.

I bought the 2.5 with resonator and in hindsight I think I should have gone with the 2.25". The 2.5 loses a little torque at the bottom end, but I get a little more hp at the top with is good for nothing more then dyno bragging rights. I think the 2.25 would have left the torque where I want it since it's on my daily driver.

variable exhaust ftw... electronically controlled 1 always open, 1 butterfly, 2 parallel lines that at WOT have very little backpressure but one line shuts off completely when airflow is low. torque & horsepower in harmony.
